Would extra college course work help that promotion at work?
Are you looking for a new career?
Are you retired but love to learn?
Do you want an education but are unable to come to campus?

Distance Education at NC State is perfect for Non-Degree Studies students- people who aren’t officially enrolled in a degree program at NC State at this time. It's education when you want it, how you want it. Flexible and high quality, there are hundreds of interesting and meaningful courses to explore without ever leaving your home or office. If you have Internet access you have an opportunity to learn at NC State. Through Non-Degree Studies (NDS), learners enroll part-time to complete course work contributing towards degree programs, or enroll in select courses for personal or professional enrichment. NDS students include businesspeople, high-schoolers or military personnel interested in taking classes to find or advance a career, professionals, retirees or others simply interested in enjoying high caliber courses at our world-class university.

NC State is the people’s university, dedicated to innovation in action and delivering meaningful results to our community and the world. But at NC State, our greatest achievement is you. This section includes academic tools and resources that will make your time as a Non-Degree Studies student in Distance Education successful and enjoyable. It includes Academic Advising, where you can get sound guidance on academic decisions; Proctoring, which covers how you’ll take your exams; our Career Center, which offers a variety of career events and counseling including personality and career interest assessments; and an overview of our fine Libraries.
