Financial Aid
The Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid website is an excellent resource for students with questions about their Financial Aid.

Students who are currently enrolled in a degree program at NC State have their financial need calculated based on the difference between your cost of attendance and your Expected Family Contribution (EFC). The cost of attendance is calculated by the institution and includes both on-campus and Distance Education coursework.
Students enrolled in Non-Degree Studies, a non-degree program, are generally not eligible for financial assistance. To be eligible for financial aid, students must be enrolled in degree programs offered by the University. An exception to this degree program requirement may be made, however, for NDS students who are enrolled for at least 6 credit hours per semester taking course work required for admission into a degree program. If you are a Non-Degree Studies student and you are taking coursework that is required for you to be admitted into a degree program at NC State, please contact your financial aid advisor in the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid. If you qualify to be funded as an NDS student, you will be eligible only for Federal Stafford Loan assistance for a maximum of one 12-month period.
To determine who your financial aid advisor is, see the staff listing at:
www7.acs.ncsu.edu/financial_aid/staff.htm.
Please note that per The Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid, students who are suspended or on probation are not considered to be in good academic standing and therefore will not be eligible for any financial aid to cover the cost of the DE courses. If you have any questions, please contact their office.
Campus Initiated Tuition Increase (CITI) Funds - Distance Education Financial Aid
A limited amount of grant funding is available each year to NC State students who are enrolled in Distance Education degree programs, or students with an undergraduate degree who are admitted to a K-12 teacher licensure or lateral entry teacher program offered through Distance Education. Preference for licensure and lateral entry teacher DE grants will be given to currently employed teachers in K-12 North Carolina public schools.
Criteria for receiving Distance Education grants is based on academic merit, demonstrated financial need, and enrollment in multiple DE courses per semester.
