Tuition
The method of calculating tuition and fee charges for students who take DE courses has changed as of fall 2012. Please see the memorandum from Provost Warwick Arden.
- On-campus degree-seeking students are billed on-campus tuition and fees for their courses, whether the courses are on-campus or not.
- All other students are billed the DE rate for DE courses and on-campus tuition and fees for on-campus courses.
Fee-Supported Services
Students enrolled in Distance Education programs and Non-Degree Studies (NDS) students enrolled only in DE courses are not eligible for all fee-supported services. For these students, services such as the Student Health Center and the NC State Gymnasium are unavailable. At this time there is no option for DE students to purchase access to these services.
However, all students pay an Education and Technology fee, which gives full access to NC State’s technology infrastructure and online environment.
Graduate Audit Policy
The audit policy that applies to campus-based graduate-level courses does not apply to graduate-level Distance Education courses. These are funded separately from on-campus courses and therefore have a separate registration and billing process. For more information, review audit policies from the Cashier’s Office.
