Tuition

Tuition and fees for Distance Education (DE) courses are calculated on a per credit hour basis. This is in addition to any tuition and fees for on-campus courses you may be taking. DE courses are identified by a section number of 600 or higher in MyPack Portal.

Student Fees

Fees paid by Distance Education students pay for a Unity account and email, and allow full access to NCSU Libraries, Math Labs, and Unity Computer Labs.

Students registered only for Distance Education courses do not pay student services fees. Therefore, services like the Student Health Center and the NC State Gymnasium are unavailable. At this time there is no option for DE students to purchase access to these services.

Audit Policy

The audit policy that applies to campus-based graduate level courses does not apply to graduate level Distance Education courses. These are funded separately from on-campus courses and therefore have a separate registration and billing process.

Lab Sections

If a course requires a lab component that is not a 600 section (and therefore not DE), then that lab credit is subject to on-campus pricing.
