Local Testing

DELTA now offers two testing locations on campus. When scheduling your exam, be sure to make note of the room location:

Walk-in Testing

The majority of testing is now done on a walk-in basis (no appointment necessary) at both testing centers. This gives you maximum flexibility to take your exams. You should check the operating hours for the testing centers and plan accordingly. It is your responsibility to come in during the exam window on your syllabus, and no exam will be started less than 30 mintues prior to closing. Walk-in seats are first-come, first-served, and students with appointments will receive priority.

Scheduling an Exam

Before scheduling your exam, consult your instructor regarding his or her exam policies. Exam requirements are usually listed in the Course Details Sheet. Students are responsible for taking their exams on the correct date. The appointment system does not block out your dates for you. If your instructor requires local proctored exams, follow these guidelines to schedule an exam:

  • You may schedule an appointment for an exam or walk in to the Testing Centers without a scheduled appointment. Please check the closing time for each facility before walking in.
  • You should schedule your exams at least 1 week in advance of the exam date.
  • The calendar for managing exam proctoring appointments is based on a exam's begin time.
  • Schedule all exams, including your final exams, as early in the semester as possible. Appointment slots are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • It is your responsibility to take your exams on the correct dates. Please review your course syllabus before coming in to take your exams.

Accommodations through Disabilities Services Office

Each center is equipped to accommodate special needs testing per confirmation of Disability Services Accommodation/Service Letter and Testing Accommodations/Service Procedures. You will need to confirm with your instructor all for accommodations (extended time, etc) at the beginning of the semester. Students requesting accommodation should have their letter of accommodation available via hardcopy or email for their first exam at the testing center. If you are receiving additional time for exams you will need to give yourself adequate time for your exam prior to the close of the Testing Center.

If you receive an individual room accommodation, you must fill out a room request for your tests at least one week in advance. The Individual Room Request form is located at http://delta.ncsu.edu/apps/proctoring/accommodations/.

Proctoring Guidelines

Follow these guidelines on the day of your exam for a smooth exam experience.

All students must:

  • Check in using your NC State Unity ID and password. Please review these prior to coming in to take your exam.
  • Arrive 15 minutes early and check in. All tests will begin promptly at the starting time, and late students will NOT receive additional time to complete their exams. If you need assistance or experience any technical difficulty please contact us. If you arrive late you may be asked to reschedule.
  • Present a photo ID.
  • Bring only a photo ID, pen and pencil, and anything else permitted by your instructor.
  • Store cell phones or electronic devices in lockers.
  • Secure bookbags and personal items in lockers.
  • Comply with the NC State University Student Code of Conduct.
