Undergraduate Site-Based 2+2 Engineering Program
Description
If you are an undergraduate interested in an engineering degree, but are physically attending another university or community college in North Carolina, then the site-based 2+2 program may be for you. In association with other universities in North Carolina, this degree program has been designed for those undergraduates who are able to attend their first two years of study at another location, such as Lenoir Community College, Craven Community College, UNC-Wilmington, or UNC-Asheville. After finishing the first two years of matriculation requirements for the engineering degree, students then finish their studies at NC State University, NC A&T University, or UNC-Charlotte.

Admissions requirements
(Is this the program for me? How do I apply?)
If you are interested in applying to the 2+2 program, you can follow the same degree application procedures that other degree-seeking students follow at your initial site. There are no additional entrance requirements. Be sure to specify engineering as your program of interest. Contact the site engineering advisor before registering for courses.
Plan of study
(How much time will it take?)
After completing the first two years of matriculation requirements at your initial site, you may then tranfer to complete your engineering degree. To finish your degree, you may attend NC State, NC A&T University, or UNC-Charlotte. Alternatively, you may choose to complete the bachelor of science in engineering (BSE) in mechatronics at UNC-Asheville. See your site advisor for the transfer application form and procedures.
