Teacher Licensure
Specialized training is available to help you prepare for a teaching career or to add additional credentials for licensure.
Business and Marketing Education Initial Licensure Program
Designed for lateral entry teachers who hold a provisional license in business or marketing and are currently teaching. Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related area.
English as a Second Language Teacher Licensure Add-on Program
Intended for currently employed, licensed North Carolina teachers and for those who are pursuing teacher licensure through an approved degree program at NC State. The ESL license will add on to the teacher’s current teaching license at the level of initial licensure.
Licensure in Education for Agricultural Professionals
Licensure in Education for Agricultural Professionals (LEAP) provides certification and North Carolina licensure to teach agriculture in school settings. Entering students must hold a bachelor’s degree in agriculture, natural resources or closely related discipline.
NC Teach@NC State
An intensive, one-year lateral entry alternative teacher education program. Entering students must have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject area (or 24 credit hours completed in the subject area they want to teach) and a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 2.5.
