Recognizing the constraints preventing many working professionals from advancing in the fields of parks, recreation, tourism and sport management, we have developed a program of study designed to give students the knowledge and skills they need to advance in their careers. With an emphasis on advanced management, graduates of our program will have the knowledge and credentials needed to advance in the fields of parks, recreation, tourism and sport management.

- PRT 506: Organizational Behavior and Leadership in PRT&S (3 credits)
- PRT 507: Strategic Marketing Management in PRT&S (3 credits)
- PRT 508: Risk Management for PRT&S (3 credits)
- PRT 650: E-Portfolio (1 credit)

Admissions requirements
(Is this the program for me? How do I apply?)
- Completed application.
- Official transcripts.
- A minimum undergraduate grade point average of 3.0.
- Two years full-time professional work experience OR scores from the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) or the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) completed within the past five years.
- Three recommendations (including at least one academic reference).
Plan of study
(How much time will it take?)
Courses are offered in the fall and spring semesters and in both summer sessions. Ten courses (totaling 31 credits hours) are required, so a student taking five courses per year can complete the degree requirements in two years. A maximum of six (6) years is allowed to complete the degree requirements.

Click "Apply & Enroll" to apply for admission or register to take courses. To earn the degree, students must be admitted through NC State's Graduate School. Students may begin to take courses before being admitted by registering as a non-degree student (NDS).
