Adult and Community College Education – Executive Format Doctoral Distance Program

Note: Enrollment in courses in this program are available to admitted students or with permission of the doctoral cohort director.

The department of Adult and Higher Education at North Carolina State University is currently recruiting from the Fall 2009 Charlotte executive weekend format doctoral cohort program in Adult and Community College Education.  Designed to serve the busy working professional, students participate in courses offered in an executive format, meeting on weekends in the Charlotte area, through face to face, blended (online & face-to-face), and a few completely online courses.  A typical semester weekend format could include a meeting on the 1st and 3rd weekend (twice a month during the semester) face-to-face and then other online activities.  At most, while completing 2 courses, students will meet 8 times face-to-face during a semester.  This cohort program will enhance the professional practice of those who serve adult learners through innovative leadership and instructional roles.  Current participants in the program represent professionals in a broad spectrum of roles including administration, instruction, and service efforts in community colleges and four year college and university settings. This program also serves professionals who work in various leadership roles in human resource education, organizational learning, training and development, continuing education, cooperative extension, patient education, staff development, religious education, community education, and workforce development.
