Information Fact Statement

We are currently working on creating a Course Detail Sheet for the course you have selected. Please continue to check back in the coming weeks.

You may also check the previous semester listing to see if there is a past Course Detail Sheet. This will give you a good idea of the general course requirements, but please remember to check the information for course specifics when it is available.

Course Detail Sheets have all the information you need to understand what each class requires. Each includes the following information:

  • Course Description: The full University course description.
  • Tuition and Fees:Information can be found at http://distance.ncsu.edu/tuition/
  • Delivery format(s):What delivery formats are used for the course. For example: Internet, In-Person, or NCREN.
  • Learning Management Systems: Information on the systems used to submit homework, facilitate class discussions, or view online lectures. These include Moodle, Vista, Wolfware, Elluminate, and WebAssign.
  • Attendance Requirements:On occasion, a course may require that you come to NC State’s Campus or another facility. This section of the Course Detail Sheet will clearly spell out any attendance requirement that a course has.
  • Course Materials:Any books, course packs, or media that is required for a course. There may also be some materials listed that are recommended but not required.
  • Course URL:The instructor provides us with a URL for the course. This page often has the syllabus, course content, lectures, etc. This is the best place to get started with your course once you are registered.
  • Instructor Contact Information:One of the keys to being a successful Distance Education student is maintaining contact with your instructors. We highly encourage you to contact your instructors at the beginning of the semester via telephone, mail, fax, e-mail or even personal visits. Keep in mind that there are many students involved and the instructors rely on you to maintain contact. All of the contact information for your instructor can be found on the Course Detail Sheet.
